When updating a home, the focus is often on the kitchen, bathrooms, or living areas.  The entryway can often be an afterthought, yet it's the first thing people see when they visit your home.  This was true for us when renovating our home a few years back, the entryway wasn’t planned out and sat empty with just a bench.  It looked unfinished and impersonal.  After deciding we needed to do something we looked and looked for inspiration and found a few guiding principles that made sense to us no matter how big or small your entryway is.
